Dead Lands / Northern Mesica

Description:

The lands north of Central Mesica, covered in darkness, ruled by the Heralds of the Damned, and almost entirely unreachable due to the defenses there. The land used to be (before the Earth Reforming Calamity) a cold country that loved maple syrup and put leaves on their flags.

Geography:

Located north of Central Mesica, with the Somnum Hills separating the two. Also south of the deadly and frozen Ice Colossus. The Great Mortem and The Atlantis reach partway up this country, soon transforming into the two other seas just underneath the massive Ice Colossus. The whole country is divided into seven major different portions, each area having a 'theme' that extends corner to corner, regardless of terrain changes and so on.

Government & Population:

This country doesn't have an official government like Central Mesica, but is rather run and completely occupied by the Heralds of the Damned. The population here is extremely low compared to other areas, consisting solely of military bases and fortresses and no civilian towns or cities. The sparseness of civilization and such, makes surviving in this country without support near impossible.

Dunkelheit:

The whole land is covered in Dunkelheit, having all of its attributes over different areas and so on. This has caused the land to be feared and hated by its southern neighbors, but loved by all and any dark creatures and demons.

Dead Lands:

The name 'Dead Lands' comes from the fact that its inhabitants are infamous for their killing ability, as well as any individuals who venture in there will vanish, only to turn up months (or even a year or more) later as corpses in the Somnum Hills. Much stigma surrounds the land and anything that comes from it, is involved with it, and so on.

Badlands

Earth's Scar:

The Earth's Scar is a massive area, between the rest of the Dead Lands and the Ice Colossus. Despite it's massive area and history, it's become such a land of desolation, it has nothing much else to talk about, being only islands barely above the water, flattened and burned black, with the surrounding waters being stained an abysmal black from permanent damage. The Earth's scar was a testing zone for the most destructive weapons right before the Earth Reforming Calamity, having experienced almost every type of destructive weapon before they were used on the rest of the world. Should an individual wander there, they will feel the total emptiness, numbness, and lack of life there. So much so in fact, they risk losing their ambitions, goals, desires, and entire identity in the process. This has caused tons of catatonic, standing corpses that slowly shuffle around without purpose, moaning and groaning as they slowly rot.

Impending wall:

Compared to Central Mesica, the Dead Lands are pretty much sectioned off from the rest of the continent by the massive wall-like mountains. Once normal mountains with gradual slopes, the weapons used during the Earth Reforming Calamity cut, eroded, and exploded bits off so that only the extremely dense and hard cores remained. These mountains serve as expert defenses for the Dead Lands.
