The Lord Secretary is the Queen's personal assistant and advisor in all things. They are most likely highly trusted with secrets above all other government officials, though occassionally the office is given to an adversary to undermine their political machinations.
Appointment
The appointment is done by the Queen of Alfeari, often as a sign of both honor for loyalty and support, and as a result of capability.
Duties
The Lord Secretary is the head administrator of the land, under only the hereditary ranks of the Royal Family.
Responsibilities
The Lord Secretary acts as a filter and go-between for the Queen and the heads of all governmental, civic and military departments.
Accoutrements & Equipment
The office is symbolized by a quill embroidered on the left breast. The color of the coat is the House color, while the embroidery is the station of the one served. Silver indicates the Lord Secretary to a yet-unCrowned Princess Heir. Gray is the Lord Secretary to a Conqueror, and gold embroidery shows the Lord Secretary of a fully Recognized Queen.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
A Lord Secretary can be dismissed by the Queen at any time for any reason. However, the Maneuvering of political powers severely affects whether that happens. Therefore, a loyal Lord Secretary is unlikely to be removed because of the Queen's personal feelings about them.
