Queen of Alfeari

The Queen of Alfeari is a hereditary, matriarchal title for the ruler of the Kingdom of Alfeari and the Alfearite Empire. The queen sits on the Throne of Whispers and wears the Moonlight Crown.

Requirements

To be a fully Crowned Queen, one must first be Acknowledged as the Princess Heir. This is usually done when the eldest daughter reaches her third year, though it can be done later. Since this requires the presence and blessing of a current Queen or Conqueror, one who takes the title by force or in Maneuvering cannot be fully Crowned.

History

The current title of Queen of Alfeari has only been in existance for 150 years. Prior to that, the Kingdom of Alfeari was ruled by a patriarchal line during which women suffered in a culture that actively prioritized males. The last holder of the title King of Alfeari was Rojerim Bogurn, ruler of the House Bogurn.
Queen Isidra Vandivel the First took the throne in a revolt which culminated in the Battle of the Blood Plains, during which Rojerim was killed. House Bogurn has yet to recover from the political blow.
