Hayden has strong relationships with both his parents and frequently goes to them for advice. He has great respect for them both, and values their opinions.
Hayden respects and looks up to his older brother Horace, but he's young enough to have missed out on the benefit of having grown up with Horace, so Hayden's not as close to him as some of his siblings are. Still, Hayden is comfortable with Horace and knows his older brother supports him.
When Hayden was younger, Hunter often tricked him into helping prank their siblings or otherwise get into trouble. Hayden was usually the one to get them back out. Hayden was often frustrated with Hunter's antics, but found them endearing nonetheless and developed a strong relationship with Hunter.
Hayden is the only sibling that Hadley trusts with her secrets, and he trusts her with his (on the rare occasion that he has them). He opens up more with her than with almost any of his other siblings, not through any conscious intention but simply because he does. As such, they've grown fairly close.
Halder is the only sibling Hayden opens up to more than to Hadley. Halder has an uncanny knack for noticing when something's wrong with Hayden, and Hayden trusts Halder's advice almost as much as he trusts his parents' advice. When he has a problem, he's likely to go to Halder first.
Harper has the easiest time of making Hayden smile. She's exuberant and bubbly, and it spills out to everyone around her. If Hayden needs to get away from some sort of stress, or take a break from working out some historical puzzle, he'll find Harper and participate in one of her adventures.
Holland makes Hayden glad to be a big brother. Hayden loves helping care for his little brother, including reading to him, and would do anything to take care of him.
