The Chosen

The Chosen are an ancient order of elite elven warriors, equivalent to the Dwarven Throneguard or the Human Royal Protectors. There are always seven Chosen at any time, elves working hard and training for years to master magic and combat, with each taking on the same name as one of the First Chosen: Tyrael, Hellias, Sarael, Ayon, Maranaim, Amphetrion, and Aries. While they act as a royal protective unit, they also act as a checks and balances system against the ruler of Nyth Noelle, serving to be powerful enough to dethrone them if their rule should threaten the safety of the kingdom itself.

Structure

• Tyrael the First: Tyrael is the leader of the Chosen and usually a role taken on by a veteran chosen who has ascended through each of the ranks by pedigree or by death. They are the first to fight to protect the kingdom or the ruler depending on who it is they must defend.

Culture

• Names of Old: Those who ascend to the Chosen forgo their old names and take on the names of the first Chosen whose position they occupy.

History

• The First Chosen: The original Chosen were formed during the founding of the Kingdom of Nyth Noelle after the Age of Divinity and the end of the Mage's Tyranny. Fey and magical creatures began to be freed of oppression and slavery, and as such the Archfey of the time collected together to establish a foothold within the material realm, rather than waiting for the actions and occurrences of the material plane to affect the Feywild and their brethren.
