Aya'danu

Queen, Highness, Grace Aya'danu (a.k.a. Aya, Danu, the Goddess, Elf Mother, the Archfey of Adoration, The Adored Fey)

Aya'danu is the Archfey Queen of the Elven kingdom of Nyth Noelle, as well as the Archfey of Adoration. Ruling over the Elves for hundreds of years, Aya'danu is the most recent Archfey to sit in the Feythrone and has stoked a culture of love, peace, and collaboration at the sacrifice of preparation for war and discord, which she is often criticized for.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Aya'danu was not one of the original Fey to arrive on Aldris during Fey's Landing, but rather an exceptionally gifted enchanter who was blessed to become one of the first Elves by the Archfey's grace and gifts. This, combined with her natural charisma and personal power, allowed her to ascend into the Courts and hearts of many within the Feywild and Material Realm alike. When the original Archfey of Adoration passed, she passed her domain and powers onto Aya in hopes of her being worthy of the love and adoration she commanded, and while she did utilize and control the domains well, she was youthful and arrogant and made many mistakes that would come back to haunt her.   In her temperamental youth, she bore the children of nearly endless lovers of all sorts of races, all samples a kernel of her power that would allow them to easily command the attention of others. As such, each child would use their charm and powers in a different way: some would use it to rally the people in righteous wars, others would use it to clamor up the social ladder through seduction, and others would get people to do the most horrid things by use of their manipulations. Whatever their decisions, Aya'danu cared little, leaving them to their own devices.   Eventually, by both conscious and subconscious use of her power, the elvish kingdom of Nyth Noelle found themselves choosing her as their new ruler, its previous ruler Scahah being ousted due to the years of war and chaos with the other kingdoms being under her rule. However, she warned her to take it seriously, and that being a ruler of a people and land was a responsibility not to be scoffed at. For the first hundred or so years, it seemed easy to her, until war and devastation came in the form of Zahm the Feybane.   A famed Dominus who rallied up the orcish tribes by blade and force, Zahm the Feybane gained his title by his relentless slaughter and burning of the elvish countryside, pushing the campaign across the continent to exterminate the Elves to the south. He was known for capturing and burning Elves to the stake as a part of his dedication to his patron of flame and agony, the name of which is still unknown to this very day. Aya'danu, thrown into action by the loss, pain, and growing displeasure of her people, quickly acted and met Zahm in open combat, but suffered a grievous wound and would have fallen before the orc's fiendish greataxe, had her consort at the time, Amen the White, not stepped in. A Larethian Knight blessed with inherent mastery over arcane power, Amen led the last vanguard of Elves against Zahm's assault, allowing Aya'danu to escape at the cost of her and her legion's lives. To this day she still bears the burning wound at her side, refusing true healing so as to remind her of what it means to be a weak queen and to lose that which you love.   Her grief was immense, enough that the whole of Nyth Noelle lost all of its colors for months as she mourned the loss of her love and people, comforted by Herne himself as well as many of the other Archfey who came to visit her. It was then that she was approached by the human king to the east, Devlin Sonora, who proposed an alliance between the elvish and human nations against the Orcs, in exchange for the humans to be able to mine, farm, and settle within the elvish territory. Despite being warned by the other fey not to accept, Aya'danu was the queen and quickly took the offer out of desperation to save her people and relieve them of Zahm's tyranny.   This would only be one of Devlin "Sharpwit" Sonora's great ruses, as he had secretly also made an alliance with the Dwarves of Thor Bardam whilst the Elves were distracted with Zahm's invasion. With the elves on his side as well, he could push forward and have the freedom to push the orcs out of both their amassed and original territory as it was something his army could bit do alone, and before long he was bunching them up to the north with the help of the combined elvish and dwarven forces. Zahm was slain in time, his bones gifted to the queen as payment for the loss of her consort, and Devlin quickly dove in and began to fill the freed orc lands with settlements, miners, and citizens to reap the benefits of his careful plans. This would allow Sonora to flourish monstrously, forming the foundation of which the current kingdom is built on to this day.   The harrowing experience of war, death, and loss has left Aya'danu shaken, forcing her to be more cautious, protective, and mindful of the world around her. She has since become less indulgent and more present in the rulings of her kingdom, become more matronly and keen towards the needs and wants of her people. yet still, she seems to be more colder than before, distant from her other lovers and consorts as the memory of Amen still burns within her mind.

Gender Identity

Aya'danu identifies as female and often keeps a female form.

Sexuality

Aya'danu is polyamorous and pansexual, having had an innumerable amount of lovers of various orientations and genders in the past.

Accomplishments & Achievements

The rule of Aya'danu, barring the War of the Southern Storm, has been prosperous and seen an uncalculated amount of growth and stability for her kingdom. Her people are healthy, educated, and able to practice and pursue any avenue they wish to, from martial fighting to poetry to devotion to the gods. This inward focus has caused her defensive agencies to suffer, but due to their alliance with the humans, they have had little need to focus on it.

Failures & Embarrassments

Aya'danu holds the sacrifice and death of Amen the White and the loss of her four Chosen during the War of the Southern Storm as her greatest failure.

Mental Trauma

Amen's giving up of her life to save Aya'danu broke her of her childish play and indulgence in attention and passion, forcing her to grow out of the need and step up as a true ruler, aware of the dangers and greed of the surrounding nations and the horrid sorrows of the world.

Intellectual Characteristics

Aya'danu is exceptionally intelligent but chooses to avoid or supersede topics of war and discord due to her trauma. She has the wisdom of countless centuries under her belt due to being an Archfey, and has served in and has ties to a variety of different circles.

Morality & Philosophy

Aya'danu is monstrously caring of her own kind, and is willing to do anything to protect them from harm. She will often make the choice that mostly benefits the elves, even so far as to sacrifice and ignore the plights of other races if it means her people are kept protected.
