Personal history
I am the bastard son of the world-famous magister Lord Gaspard D'Ouest-Croissant, whose ancient noble lineage is notable for producing prodigious magical talent and whose pioneering magical research has earned him renown across the continent. My mother was an elven servant in the palace who was given an allowance and made to leave the city when I was born. My father, an otherwise honorable man, raised me in his own household but although I had all the trappings of a noble upbringing and education I was never as favoured as his other children or legitimized as an official member of my family. Resenting this, I began to sneak out of the mansion at an early age and spend time among the common folk, gambling and cavorting in the taverns of the lower city. My habits led my father to withhold the education in magic afforded to his other children who showed talent in this area, as he felt I was too irresponsible to be entrusted with such dangerous knowledge. Resenting this, I taught myself the fundamentals of the arcane by stealing books from his library and practicing in a long-forgotten cellar in a remote corner of our family's vast mansion. I quickly developed my innate talent and eventually become drawn to esoteric knowledge in obscure and forbidden tomes. In one such book I discovered whispers of an omniscient being who has been known to treat with mortals and provide hidden knowledge in return for service. I stole out of the mansion in the dead of night and set out to pursue this path, hoping that one day I may be able to return and earn my father's favour with the knowledge I have gained...

Return from the Shack
Met the gnome Florence, who had managed to summon a couple of mephits and trap himself in his basement with no food or water for several days. He was very grateful for the rescue and promised us additional work and magical services once he gets set back up. We came across a mysterious Tabaxi named Stars-in-Eyes being beset with direwolves in the middle of the night. Upon rescuing him he seemed to take to the group and now appears to be tagging along with us. We have now been tasked with investigating the disappearance of a caravan carrying important goods over the mountain pass along with several other employees of Arameshka's, including a very intriguing redhead woman...
