Dragonshards

Dragonshards are translucent stones with pulsating veins of color within them. They can be found in various parts of Aldora, and come in three distinct varieties, varying in color, location, and uses. Dragonshards are used to enhance the powers of a Dragonmark, or in the creation of magic items, artifacts, or constructs. Dragonshards are important to many of the magic technologies used throughout The Five Nations
There are Three Types of Dragonshards, described below:
Zalnuash Dragonshards

• Golden in Color and fall from the The Ring of Siberys
• Usually found in the equatorial regions of Aldora and are very rare
• Closely linked to the Dragon-marked Houses and are used to enhance the abilities of those with a Dragonmark

Khyber Dragonshards

• Ranging from light blue to black in hue, these dragonshards are found in the underdark, deep beneath the surface of Aldora
• They are considered the most dangerous to obtain, but are not uncommon
• Commonly used in the binding of elementals for use in various Elemental Bound Arcanotech, such as Lightning Rail

Aldoran Dragonshards

• Bright red in hue, also referred to as Bloodstones
• Commonly found beneath the topsoil of Aldora, making them the most ubiquitous and easiest to obtain
• Most versatile of all the dragonshards, these are used in a variety of Arcanotech

Dragonshards usually grow brightly when used as a conduit, but only dimly grow when unused
