Gilgurth's Cloud
The Gilgurth's Cloud often just known as 'the Cloud', is a massive field of dust, rocks, and debris in Alanspace. Modern astronomy understands it is created by an anomaly in the fabric of Alanspace where the Anon (Magic) is seemly corrupted. The anomaly is a stationary location within the Celestial Cycle orbital disk. It resides within the path of both stars and is located on the orbital plane closest to the Draco Constellation - . It is unaffected by gravity or other physical or magical phenomena. Every Six hundred years one of the two stars Juva or Uatu pass through the Cloud.
As Juva, a star that radiates Solanon, passes through the Cloud, its interaction with the strange energies of the Cloud cause wild storms within the Cloud. Thes storms mix the Clouds debris with the asteroids of Juva's Belt, causing some of the Cloud's materials to remain with Juva, and some of Juva's asteroids to remain with the Cloud. After Juva passes out of the Cloud, the dust, asteroids and gases within settle back into place. The debris taking by Juva will quickly, within a matter of a few years, fall back into rings orbiting the star.
When Uatu, the Sun, passes through, it will absorb Solanon energy left by Juva, giving the magical energy to the sun. The magic aside, the Sun's solar winds push the Cloud's materials away, creating swirling asteroid and dust fields throughout the year it passes through the Cloud. Create meteor showers light up the sky on the orbiting planet Aldern throughout the event, and some larger meteors can even impact the surface.
When Juva passing through the Cloud it is the mark for Aldern scholars and astronomers as the transition between Celestial Cycles. Each of the ages of the world ends with these meteor showers, and impacts. This occurs every 1200 years. The greatest of these was the Gilgurth impact of 1200pre-sc which nearly wiped-out life on Aldern when a massive rock impacted with the world.
