Mari Victorious
the Lightning Statue
The marble statue known as Mari Victorious is a statue housed in the city of Api on the Thoamaine Peninsula of the major continent of Ethae. It is believed to be a depiction of the famous Zalpula Elf queen Mari Locnehta . While many statues of the heroic queen have been produced through history, the Mari Victorious is believed to have been created during her lifetime, by an unknown elven artist. As such, it is considered the only true likeness to the ancient figure and used as a base for all other artist renderings of her.
Mari Victorious was found in the ruins of Thapoddo during the Novya conquest of Lhakamed. It was moved to New Open, and later Lakorth, before being returned to Tinjir. It has resided in Api ever since.
The statue radiates a crackling energy off the figures shoulders that resembles electricity. The energy is harmless, acting more as a light source similar to a Nura, eternally illuminating the statue. People claim they can hear strange humming sounds coming from the statue when alone with it. Children seem to hear this sound clearly, claiming it to be ethereal music. No studies, magical or scientific, can find anything that would substantiate these claims.
