High Seat Castle
Midland Castle
High Seat Castle, sometimes called Midland Castle or Ron Castle, was the seat of power for the dukes of the Duchy of Ron in the Kingdom of Toemanshire. While the dukes of Ron rarely stayed at the castle, it being to remote and difficult to get to, it was home to nearly one hundred servants and guards year-round.
The castle was put under siege by the Orc horde that invaded and conquered Toemanshire. The defenders of the castle held for two years. High Seat finally fell to the invaders when the defenders could no longer resist, malnourished and weakened from lack of food. In a final act of defience the men of the castle sneak into the orc camp attacking, while the women and children fled into the night. The orcs, in raged by the long siege and attack slaughtered all they could find. The castle was looted and occupied by the orcs for a short time before it was abandoned after infighting over control of the castle.
The castle is currently unoccupied. The noble families of the duchy are dead, and there is no claimant for the estate. Its remote location and difficultly to reach make it an economic nightmare for a region struggling to recover from the war.
