Divine Sorcery

Channeler of Divinity

A divine sorcery, sometimes called soul sorcery, are the rare people that can channel their internal Magic, known as the Daanan, into healing energy. It is one of the unsolved mysteries of magic for scholars. For while the Anon itself is a power of life and creation, its channeling and use cannot, in most case, harness its core power. Divine souls seem to have the natural ability to pull deeper from the magic within, finding the source of energy with and pull that positive power out in the form of healing magic.

This life-giving power has been heavily associated with Alu, the creator god of all things. the Church going so far as claiming it is only through faith in God alone that this power can grow. Its doctrine views divine sorcerers as having a connection to the divine beyond most, hence the name of this type of sorcery. Opposition to this believe points that many with divine sorcery abilities discover this as children, long before they grow in their faith. These individuals are often recruited into the Church in one form or another, finding their way through the ranks quickly.

The proclivity to become a divine sorcerer is almost exclusive to cultures where the Church has influence. While, joining and serving in the Trijan faith is not required, many who discover their abilities will join the religion out of a sense of duty. In cultures without the Church, or where healing magic is not viewed as special, sorcerers with this potential are often overlooked, and they never tap into the ability. It is the Trijan faith, and its doctrine of helping the poor and healing the sick, that has brought this subclass of sorcerer into the world. The Church has many hospitals and holy orders that a divine sorcerer can join to hone their skills in the healing arts.
