Demon Resin

Demon Resin is an exceedingly rare and potent substance, formed only in the aftermath of a demon’s death. When one of these infernal beings is destroyed, its body is engulfed in an unearthly fire, consumed as its soul is wrenched back to its abyssal plane. All that lingers is a fine, pale ash—a remnant infused with demonic power. Highly coveted by The Dawn Wardens, Order of the Crimson Vow, and the Children of the Shattered Veil, this elusive material serves as a tool for their orders.
When applied to a blade, Demon Resin causes the metal to glow as if molten, radiating an eerie blue-tinged heat, yet remaining cool to the touch. This enchantment endures until the blade finds its mark. A weapon treated with Demon Resin becomes a bane to creatures that exist between planes—able to strike down spirits, demons, and entities that would otherwise be intangible. However, its effects on mortals are even more terrifying. A human pierced by such a blade does not bleed or suffer a normal wound; instead, their very soul is severed, leaving behind only a hollow, lifeless husk—a body without a spirit.
This vacant vessel is primed to be inhabited by a demon. Through a ritual known only to the The Children of the Shattered Veil, the body can be inhabited by a demon spirit. The use of Demon Resin is the only known method capable of summoning a demon into the mortal realm, binding it into a physical form in our mortal plane.
