Morrigan's song in Albion: Time of Anarchy | World Anvil

Morrigan's song

An' how shall I sing of thee, Morrigan?
Thou the triple goddess, three in one: maiden, mother, wisewoman? (I will not name thee "crone".)
Thy symbol a skull, thy roses weep blood, thy name a terror a'fore the fray.
Thy sword sings death to all your foes; the ravens sing your praise.
Yet, in secret moments; lover, provider, mentor art thou.
Thou, wise-woman Morrigan, guide our steps in skill and truth.
Thou, mother Morrigan, supply a hearth where we grow strong and brave.
Thou, maiden Morrigan, revive our spirits with sweet caress and song.   An' who has earned thy wrath, oh my Morrigan?
Aye, ravagers and reavers, they are your ancient prey.
But now, they live among us, and sup upon the weak.
They cry "law" to justify brutality, an' break our will upon their wheel.
Claim wealth with righteousness priviledge, an' deny our children bread.
Thou, wise-woman Morrigan, see through their twisted lies.
Thou, mother Morrigan, demand vengence for the children, sons and daughters, husbands and wives.
Thou, maiden Morrigan, cry "freedom " with the unrelenting passion of a youth.
An' for what shall we be free, oh my goddess, Morrigan?
Aye, free to shed the blood of the powers who abuse us.
Be free from fear, and unjust laws; the tyranny of greed.
Aye , free to shed our blood to defend the ones we love.
An' build our homes, and share our hearths, and thrive upon the land.
An' thou, wise woman Morrigan, will stay our hands, cry "enough" when we have won.
An' thou, mother Morrigan, will teach us mercy, when the sword its job has done.
An' thou, maiden Morrigan, will lead us into freedom, dancing all as one.
