Military: War
The six month war between the Reach and Thirewynian Empire after years of sporadic and devastating attacks committed by Conrand Vileth, a powerful necromancer. After an attacks from the mage and his followers over the years, Imperial spies locate Vileth's whereabouts in the Greypeak mountains in the at the time sovereign nation of (The Reach). Refusing to let Vileth continue to escape, the empire dispatches a grand army to sweep through the nation, find Vileth, and take him prisoner to stand for his crimes.
This triggers a war between the small nation of traditionalist hunter gatherers and the invading army. Over the coming months much of the Reach's landscape will be decimated with the might of imperial troops and mages, leaving them crippled and vengeful for years to come.
Vileth and his remaining followers are found in the Greypeak mountain range in an abandoned outpost. Fighting between the imperial forces and his followers and thralls continue for three days until Conrand is captured and special magic restraining gear is placed upon him. Any remaining followers either scatter or are killed in the days that follow. Vileth and any captured followers are placed on a forced march to Clementon in the Plainlands. After a mock trial he is convicted and placed upon a post outside of the city to be burned alive by imperial mages. One eyewitness described it as, "A show of force of how far the Thirewynian Empire is willing to go to win. It was both one of the most hopeful and relieving moments in our history, as well as one of the most terrifying."
Fighting continued to ravish the Reach for another two months in the six month campaign until a ceasefire was declared. Bandit and retaliatory attacks an border conflicts would rage for years to come as a result of the damage caused during the brief war.
