Vekril - God of the Sea

Vekril – (CN) The god of the sea and navigation. Symbol can vary but some carry around a small glass bottle on a necklace filled with salt water and a small arrow. Legend says that if you shake the bottle, if prepared correctly, you will be lead to your destination safely.

Follower Recognition:

Vekril is most well-known by sea-faring travelers and merchants, and those on the more illegal side of things as well like pirates. However, his domain and influence is said to go beyond just the rough seas that reside on Alanor. Travelers in general, even deeply inland, often pray to the god in hope for safe travels, and uninterrupted rest while away from home. While he may not be as worshipped by those who do not travel often, or reside on merchant vessels out at sea, those traveling long distances or away from home often pray to him before doing so, in order to gain his good graces. It's said that the sea will be tamer around you should you only take what is needed from the environment, and lessen your impact on it where possible. Alternatively, if you fish excessively, dump unwanted cargo out into the sea, or otherwise disrupt the balance of the environment, you can expect to suffer his wrath, and at the very least make your journey less than pleasant.

Associated Symbols/Customs:
