Dwarf

Generally the same a in the 5e PHB, only notable differences being their height; dwarfes in this world are slightly shorter, and that while they have 5 fingers, they have 7 toes.
Dwarves (Knurlan in Dwarvish, singular knurla and Dvergar in the Ancient Language once known to all creatures) were one of the only races native to Alagaësia. Known as lovers of rock and stone, dwarves had a long lifespan and often lived in large, underground cities in the Beor Mountains. One of the most famous dwarf cities was located in Farthen Dûr ("Our Father" in dwarvish). The city itself, Tronjheim, was the secret hiding place of the Varden up until the Battle under Farthen Dûr. With the fall of the Broddring Empire the Dwarves were accepted into the Dragon Riders along with the Urgals.

Dwarf Society

The dwarven nation is split into 13 clans. Each clan was composed of a number of dwarven families. All clans are interlinked and held a specific function within society. Each clan had its own clan chief, or Grimstborith, who presided over matters concerning the individual families. To emphasise the difference between each clan, most clans operated independently in specific areas. General matters and overall cohesion is overseen by the monarch who is one of the Grimstboriths who was elected by a majority of the other Grimstboriths.
A dwarf criminal may, depending on the severity of their crime, be cast out of their clan and be named vargrimst, causing them to be completely ignored by all dwarves.
