Session 14: Getting What We Came For Report

General Summary

The party made short work of the remaining cultists, then proceeded to search Mondath's chambers. Mondath herself was not talking. Jawn found documents and a map describing the Cult's next move: "Everything must be freighted north to Naerytar."
As soon as Uthal's back was turned, Mondath dived into the chute leading down to the Tiamat Shrine room. She was chased by Uthal and Egan, and followed by Nutmeg, but she managed to reach the chest - which she smashed into, triggering the trap. Acid sprayed out throughout the room, causing damage and creating a vapor that filled the air. Mondath got the worst of it, and the party raced to escape. Uthal seized the chest; Egan sprinted past him up the passage; and Nutmeg flew back up the chute to warn Jawn. Uthal and Egan went the long way around the cave to return to their companions, and together they checked out the loot from the chest - a string of pearls, a gold-and-sapphire ring, and a bag of masterfully cut precious stones.
The party took the loot and the news back to Greenest. Governor Nighthill was overjoyed to hear that the cultists had left the region.
The party took some time to recuperate, then prepare themselves for the journey north to Elturel to rendezvous with Leosin Erlanthar and update him on the Cult of the Dragon's plans.
