Session 13: Hatchery Butchery Report

General Summary

The party investigated the pit after defeating the kobolds, and discovered two black dragon eggs tucked away in a corner. They were subsequently ambushed by guard drakes, and Uthal was nearly killed twice before Egan was able to lure the guard drakes away long enough for Nutmeg to heal him.
While resting and recuperating, Nutmeg notices that the guard drakes' bodies are being eaten by a stalagmite. The stalagmite, it turns out, is a roper - one who has been quite well-fed, and was subsequently only curious when the party entered, and quite grateful for the dead guard drakes. It asked for the dragon eggs, which Uthal reluctantly handed over (he was hoping for crafting components, and only relented when Jawn refused to let him leave the cavern with the eggs intact). In exchange, the roper gave Uthal an immature black dragon horn.
The party returned to the shrine room, still keyless, and took the other passage to continue. They found a chute leading up to a carpeted room, which turned out to be the chambers of Frulam Mondath, who showed up shortly after the party all got up into the room. They subdued her, hoping to avoid drawing the attention of the remaining cultists in the room beyond. They succeeded, but Uthal's subsequent movement caused noise that brought the guards running.
