Celestial Sendoff

"You could probably eat anything you'd like for your Sendoff, but it just so happens that a lot of Starsingers are talented bakers."
  • Starsinger Arda
  • The Celestial Sendoff

When a Starsinger decides that they wish to support a world, their friends and other Starsingers who want to wish them well will prepare them a feast to celebrate before they leave. The celebration is intended as a sort of last hurrah while the Starsinger has a corporeal body, and so it is dedicated to enjoying fleshly pleasures. The end result is something of a sumptuous potluck that delays the Starsinger's actual departure as they end up falling asleep due to being stuffed, drunk, or otherwise incapacitated.

    Example Fare

While the departing Starsinger can make requests for specific foods, at some point baked goods became common offerings. There is almost always at least one pastry, whether sweet or savory, and it tends to be made with ingredients found in or around the Birdhouse. Some examples of popular treats follow.   Inkwell Roll
    Inkwell Roll
A pastry named for the Inkwell Canvas that the Starsingers travel through. The bread is flaky, soft, and light in texture, which creates a contrast with the potently flavorful and juicy center. The center is often made with sweet berries in a way that causes the berry juice to gush out upon biting it.   Galaxy Cruller
    Galaxy Cruller
A glazed cruller that has faint citrus notes in its flavor profile. Its name comes from its entrancing color palette. When the glaze flakes off, it retains its color. An incident where a drunk Starsinger attempted to use the glaze as paint resulted in the cruller being banned for a time, but popular demand led to the ban being lifted.   Galaxy-Banded Donut

The Starsinger that invented this treat was thinking of the galactic plane and side views of galaxy. The donut is filled with a smooth, sweet cream that gives it the bands around the middle. The glowing frosting is safe to eat, but the creator declined to disclose what makes it glow.
