Saol, the First Mortal
Saol is the first being to be born in The Cycle, thus making him the first of all mortals. Saol was made by both Avalore, the Goddess of Death and Afrid, the Goddess of Life, meaning that his physical form was that of a celestial being, similar to the modern day aasimar. Although not a lot is known of Saol, due to no other mortal being alive at the time, it is known that Saol and Nimue, the First of the Fey loved one another, which granted him power over nature, making him the first druid. He, alone, lived in Aither, until his death, where the very soil in which he died created the The Ithryl Woods. Using Saol's blood and the ashes of his body, each of the gods created life on Aither. Because of this, Saol has become an honorary member of the Pantheon of Elysium, and is prayed to nearly as much as his lover, Nimue.
