Mistwood

Geography

A dense forest covering a small mountainous region. Several rivers flow through from the mountains. The forest gained its name from the hovering fog and clouds over most of the region.

Fauna & Flora

There is a an abundance of herbs, flowers, and other verdant growth in the forest that thrive in the abundance of moisture. Towards the water, certain mushrooms and fungus can be found in abundance, thriving and covering most surfaces.   Animals can be found, but it is more challenging and the creatures of the forest have learned to hide themselves and use stealth to survive.   There are several notable creatures you can find in the forest. One predator is the Malefaceous which makes its nests towards the mountain where the trees are densest.

History

Mistwood has a dark history with civilization. While in many other parts of the wilderness you find remnants of Fae ruins and mysteries, Mistwood has the remnants of a past civilization that was both Human and Elven. These ruins are difficult to find in the twisting woods but even harder to navigate. The labyrinth of stone and twisted roots hides secrets both wonderous and dark as well as some terrifying residents that have made the gloomy place their home.
