Cressari
Cressari burns with eternal twilight, its skies perpetually tinged with ember-orange hues, the result of The Fracture War. Built upon volcanic rock and bathed in the glow of molten canals, the port city pulses with life and luster. Sea vessels from every corner of the realm dock here to indulge in its infamous "Festival of the Lost" a magical festival that combines carnal pleasure, divine intoxication, and arcane marvels.
Towering obsidian casinos — shaped like dragons, screaming skulls, and other massive creatures — line the harbor. Here, one can gamble not just coin, but years of life, shards of soul, or even entire memories. The House of Dying Stars, the most notorious of these establishments, claims to have won a God’s name in a game of dice. Streets are filled with spell-light neon signs, and dancers who weave illusions with every step. Every sense is overstimulated — and that is the point.
Though technically ruled by the Flame Regent, Cressari’s true power lies with The Crimson Veil, a guild of pirate lords, high mages, and demon-bound courtesans. They ensure the city’s lawlessness is masked by an illusion of opulence and safety.
Beneath the volcanic crust is The Hollow Ember, an expansive, lava-lit undercity forged in the ruins of an ancient dwarven capital. Forgotten temples, secretive fighting pits, and outlaw academies thrive here. It’s a labyrinthine society where shadowforged contracts are binding, and duels of will occur nightly between psionics, warlocks, and criminal artificers.
The Hollow Ember is said to be watched over by The Oracle, a blind prophet who knows the outcome of every gamble before the dice are thrown. Many of the city’s wealthiest surface-dwellers send spies or agents below to curry her favor. Beneath her sanctum lies the Infernal Table — a circular vault where archdevils and Celestial exiles alike come to make high-stakes trades.
While the surface city dazzles with light and noise, it is the Hollow Ember that fuels its fire. Souls are bought, fates rewritten, and wars brokered in silence. Cressari may offer you everything — but beneath it, something ancient always collects the debt.
