Spooktober Prompt: Darkness

Komorstones are an extremely rare and not very widely known substance. While komor originally refers to the mineraloid itself, it is colloquially referred to as komorstone since it is typically sold in pure chunks, any rough edges polished down, and most commonly range in size from roughly that of a golf ball to a microwave oven. Sourced from a highly secretive mining operation within the Avarian Divine Empire, komorstones are often sought out as a collector's item, an intriguing bauble to add to one's cabinet of curiosities.   Komorstones are typically stored in a box with a cushioned lining, only opened when the opportunity to show them off arises, as their unique properties only become apparent when they are uncovered. When exposed, komorstones emit an invisible, intangible aura, seeming to push bend light away from them. The size and intensity of the aura varies, showing some correlation with the size of the stone, but that does not seem to be the only influencing factor.
