Aurora Hivétoile

Most of Aurora's performances have to take place on-campus; while there are a handful of bars and cafés in town that occasionally feature live music or slam poetry events, her particular genres of mournful dirges of dispair and spoken word elegies are, while beautiful, generally considered to be a downer, and the oft violent undertones, concerning. Rather than seeing this as a potential roadblock, Aurora will frequently remind people that many of the world's greatest artists were misunderstood in their own time, and so no rejection or request for happier songs will dull her enthusiasm.
As a multi-talented musician, Aurora has taught herself from a young age to play a number of instruments, including the saxophone, trumpet, bass, and guitar. As a dhampir, it's hard to say how long ago that "young age" was.

Personal History

As a member of the House Petit, Aurora was introduced by her consanguines to jazz quite early on and quickly took a liking to it. Similar to some of the performers in the House Petit's jazz clubs, her songs are often tied to the revolutionary birth of the Commonwealth of Aigua, delving into issues of abuse, loss, power, and taking a guillotine, like a lover's bite, straight to the neck.

Contacts & Relations

Aurora is a member of Bruxaria's Show Band Association. While it doesn't afford her the freedom that her solo work does and she frequently finds their music choice to be mainstream and generic, she appreciates the technical experience that comes from practicing with a large group.
