Nome of the High Plains

The High Plains was the second dominion and military heart of the old Triarchy, ruled by the highly martial Dambor family, a dynasty of elven earth Genasi, who had long struggled against the wild Centaurs herds of the Green Sea and were only too glad to formalise their alliance with the kingdoms around them in The Blessed Concordance .
When the centaurs of the Waving Blades were brought into the Federation, the Dambor lost much of their influence to their rivals in the Alacti and Geosi dynasties, whose strengths lay more in diplomacy and religious practice respectively. After about a century, the Alacti assumed the Nomarchy, in alliance with the Geosi, and the Plainsmarshal's Rod has passed between the three families ever since, usually transfering when the current ruler has no direct genasi heirs.
The Nomarch of the Second is the Plainsmarshal, the head of the currently leading dynasty. Once a position of primarily martial authority, the Plainsmarshal is now the civil head of state as well as High Commander of the Army of the High Plains. The electors of the 2nd Nome are the heads of the other two dynasties, the Primarchs of the Archon and the Priest in the capital city of Geosa, the Governor of Geosa – a hereditary office responsible for keeping the city, regardless of the ruling dynasty – the Landsmarshal of Dambora – the old Dambor citadel on the border of the 9th Nome – and the Primarch of the Hunter in that city.
