Greenwall

The Greenwall is a range of densely forested mountains crossing Caino a few hundred miles south of the Skystones. Its cloud forests are home to a rich array of plants and animals, but only a small number of eladrinates. Because it is almost impassable to vehicles or even large beasts of burden, the Greenwall forms a natural barrier between the expansion of The Elysian Federation and the Empire of the Southern Sun.   Despite its lush vegetation, the Greenwald has little in the way of civilised occupation. This makes it a haven for many beasts and monsters that are hunted elsewhere. There are only three major population centres, and scattered villages, many of which are dedicated, to the point of armed conflict, to maintaining their independence and isolation.   Junda lies in the Clouded Gate, a heavily-forested passage through the Greenwall which, if clear-cut, would give rapid access between the Federation and the Empire. This makes it a key strategic site and both sides are ultimately reluctant to allow the way to be cleared. The people of Junda - mostly Humans and Gnomes - work the land in the pass hard, but are known for their dedication to excellence in all things. This includes a small, but formidable, military force known as the Greenwardens.   Doulus is a gnome city, located on a high shoulder of the Eterspire, the tallest peak on the western extent of the Greenwall. While it has no temples to any god, Doulus is one of the great centres of spiritual learning and enlightenment. It is governed and protected by the three orders of Doulus. The Order of the Tempest study Magic and tend to the environment and infrastructure of the city; the warriors and martial artists of the Order of the Rod are responsible for public order and the defence of the city perimeter, and the Order of the Codex are historians, jurists and theologians, responsible for maintaining the city's archive, legal code and public record.   Ravas, located high in a deep cleft in the flank of Mount Animba, is notable for several reasons. It is home to more than seventy percent of Caino's small goliath population, and is the single largest concentration of Giant-Kin on Aiaos. Despite the cold of the altitude, the city boasts a fine grove of trees, around which the city is built. The grove is warmed by the sun and protected by the city's druids, who follow a tradition derived from firbolg customs.   The last major 'settlement' of the Greenwall is Troom, a Scutora caravan holt that ranges up and down the length of the mountain range. It visits a circuit of camp sites, each of which has a number of permanent residents, and a hall or cavern where scutors can shelter during their skin lives.
