Dustlands

The desert known as the Dustlands presents a natural barrier between the north and south of Yethera, running from the Water Margins above the fertile floodplain of the Great River to the eaves of the southern jungles of the Ophionic Empire, and to the Gap of Don in the east, spanning at its widest over two hundred miles north to south, and four hundred east to west.
The Dustlands are home to many genies and Genasi, some nomadic and others inhabiting refurbished palaces in the ruins of fallen Aenion. Scattered packs of Gnolls still roam the sands, some having returned after the passing of the Majistry of Donar while others never left the ruins of the Kingdom of Jackals.
The southern reaches of the Dustlands were once held by the Great Ophionic Empire, before its collapse, and the north was once part of Donar, but the region is now held by a loose alliance of nomadic tribes that travel between pases, and city-states that cluster around aquifers and riverbanks.
