Dragonsong
Of all means of Draconic communication, the purest is the dragonsong. First mastered by the Elder Wyrm Elephabay Emerald-Scaled, this is a form of harmonic song using the dragon's entire body as an instrument, producing a sound that has been compared to a bass viol crossed with an oboe and a mountain horn. Skilled exponents of the dragonsong can produce between five and nine simultaneous tones, in addition to assorted percussive sounds from their spines, wings, tails and talons.
Dragonsong describes the medium, but also the content A true dragonsong is not merely a polyphonic performance, it also relays a historical account through a combination of lyrics and conventions of sound. The layers of meaning in dragonsong call for absolute focus, but can be used to rapidly transmit a very large volume of information.
While they lack many of the anatomical peculiarities required by true dragonsong, both the Dragonborn and the Kobolds have traditions of dragonsong and dragonsingers. While rarely assaying to perform even in ritual high draconic, no true dragonsinger would present a fictional account in the medium. To do so would be improper, and would besides risk accidentally singing their untruth into Existence.
When two Dragons of roughly equal strength clash over territory, dragonsong is an allowed form of duel. To be asked to ajudicate such a contest is a great honour, but a terrifying prospect, given that one must declare at least one dragon not to be the greatest of all musicians.
The greatest exponents of the dragonsong are the solar and lunar dragons, which follow the Divine Twins across the Firmament, but are never seen on Aiaos, only heard in dreams.
