Order of the Golden Gate

"I still feel it the thundering turning of the heart. I still see it the unearthly glow that filled that place. I still hear it the words resounding through those hallowed halls. I know my purpose now and I will never forget it."
The Order meets in the grand fortress built above the entrance to the Labyrinthe of Souls. Those of copper carry out menial tasks. Those of steel prepare the rituals needed to quite the Labyrinthe. Those of mercury discuss in quiet whispers. Those of gold 'look' towards the future.

Structure

The Order of the Golden Gate holds 4 ranks all members begin as Copper Body who through years of service can become a Steel Seer from there a member must prove their worth in a test chosen by the eldest members. After their worth has been proven a member can become a Mercurial Soul. Once a member has traversed the depths of the Labyrinthe of Souls and looks upon the heart, they can gain the rank of Golden Mind.

Culture

"It was in the beginning when the Tenets were chosen when we viewed the words wrought upon the heart, we chose our path. First Tenet. The Body guides the Mind, the Mind guides the Soul, and the Soul perfects the Body. Second Tenet. To see is to know and to know is to begin understanding. Third Tenet. We are the Gate that protects the strands that weave the future."
The Order of the Golden Gate has carried over their belief and focus in the 'Sight' an ability that allows some to look into the future. While only a small portion of the members have the 'Sight' most if not all have a sensitivity or are taught methods to touch upon it.

Public Agenda

The Order of the Golden Gate has historically chosen a middle ground path politically focused on maintaining stability. When matters of succession appear across the Empire the records kept by the Order are often used as legal precedent.

History

The Order of the Golden Gate was founded in what is now Palince when the Cult of the Spinner discovered the Labyrinthe of Souls. This led to a schism within the Cult of the Spinner and those who survived founded the Order. The Order of the Golden Gate now stands as an organization focused on the political stability of the Imperial Households and the Noble Factions.
