Breakdown of Alignment

In Agrophon, it's difficult to find out who's on the side of good, evil, law, and chaos. Any spell which tries to detect someone's alignment returns near-random results, because of minor gods arguing over the proper answer. Supposedly, these spells are successful if the user moves sufficiently far from Agrophon and its gods, but there's no way to tell for sure. It's widely known that the spell is incorrect and inconsistent. Only a scattered few people believe in its results.   Alignment detection spells also fail in the Shadowfell and the Feywild. Other planes have their own problems: in the Abyss, for example, the only result of alignment detection is "Chaotic Evil," no matter the target. Some people claim there are certain locations or planes where the spells work, but their studies are suspiciously biased.   Developments - Act III
Once he has the ability, Monarch takes charge of the alignment system. The Detect Alignment spell becomes a convenient way to identify Monarch's allies and enemies. It becomes even more difficult to avoid the Signeadown's agents.
