Aevaly

An industrious trading city in a bottleneck of the eastern mountains. It was sacked and plundered in the infamous Battle of Aevaly, and scuffling deities have wrecked most of the land. Nobody stays in this place for long; it mostly serves as the front gate through which Ornit soldiers pour south.   Developments - Act I
Odd rumors about the city have been weaving their way into Ornity. Soldiers claim to have seen things living in the deserted streets; mutated vermin, walking corpses, or living dregs of the Battle of Aevaly. As it turns out, many people affected by the Mass Resurrection chose to stay here and rebuild the city as well as their lives. Thousands of revived soldiers and awakened beasts, the famous "second-goers," transformed the catacomb into the community of New Aevaly.

The Everett Catacomb

For 100 days, the resurrection provided life, light, food, and water to the people who crawled out of these tombs in 732. Once the effects faded away, the artificial light was replaced with modest torchlight, and the magically multiplying vegetables were organized into plots of farmland aboveground. The spacious network of caves has become almost like a public park, with carved paths for walking, winding trails for hiking, whole plazas for forums and parties, and little houses and workshops built into every level of the caves. Some of the second-goers have worked out the magic that keeps the grass green and the water safe, though there are some forgotten places where the underground meadow is pale and crumbling.   The catacomb is mostly home to light-sensitive critters, especially the bats.
