Realms of the Slavery Coast
During the times of the Empire of Carodin, Grayatha extended along the whole coast between Vodjin and the eastern end of Ëaqelun. The area, commonly known as the Coast of Grayatha was known for its flourishing trade and rich cities. The fall of the empire did however destabilize the region. Raiders of the Bleak Wastes and fights between the Vodjin and Grayatha led to frequent changes in ownership. Over the time, both Grayatha and Vodjin retreated from the western parts of the Coast of Grayatha, leaving a power vacuum. This was filled by local lords as well as pirates from Northern Caroda, who eagerly divided the territory. The balance of power is constantly changing and heavily dependent on the military might of the lords. Most of them stay firmly independent and even fight with each other on regular basis. Only massive external threats may lead to confederation, which are every bit as unstable as one would think.
The economy of the realms are heavily built upon slave labour. Most local lords supply themselves, through raids on the Bleak Wastes, Grayatha or the Vodjite Borderlands. Surplus slaves are either sold to other local realms, mostly to the pirates in the south and, depending on the political situation, to Grayatha and Vodjin.
