Eliatrope

Long-lived creatures born between the unions of humans and dragons, Eliatropes are human-like beings able to wield a mysterious force known as Wakfu, energy drawn from deep within space. Using this energy, they can create small magical portals that they can move through. They leak out this energy through wings made of Wakfu located on their head, however they are innately very sensitive about them, never revealing them to non-Eliatropes or those not members of their family. Thusly, what is under a Eliatrope hat is unknown to most races.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

An eliatrope appears as a normal human, but they have a small pair of wings made of wakfu energy emerging from the base of their skull.

Growth Rate & Stages

An Eliatrope ages as a human until age 12, in which state their growth slows rapidly, physically aging one year for every ten that passes. At this time, they are considered able enough to live on their own. Physical adulthood for an Eliatrope generally is when they reach 42 years old chronologically. At this time, physically, they match a human of 15 years of age.

Common Dress Code

An eliatrope will never be found without the large hat that covers their wakfu wings. The hats are made specially to contain their energy, and an eliatrope will quickly lose its stamina if it goes without its hat for long periods of time.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Eliatropes serve as the emissaries of the mighty dragons. In Munthrek, they are the top of the ruling class delegating orders from draconic overlords. They are seen as mighty and divine to the common folk. Eliatropes in the direct ownership of a dragon are often treated no better then objects or slaves, becoming a commodity and a symbol of status among dragons.

Common Taboos

An eliatrope will never show its wings to someone who is a non-eilatrope or an immediate family member. The only exception to this is when the eliatrope must power up its abilities to survive a battle, but even then will only resort to removing its hat as a desperate last resort.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Eliatropes are met with fear and awe by the the other species of Sarusan, as they are the closet link to the dragons. They often are isolated from the other races, and rumors about them are constantly spreading. Those that leave the normal society are often treated with caution or confusion, and they often struggle when their peers begin the out-age them.
