Origins
in AgathokBackgrounds from base 5e have been practically removed with a new system: Origins. In this new system, you’ll select an origin and background for your character. That is to say, the place where your character was raised most their life, and what they did. Depending on the origin, your character will receive additional traits and features exclusive to certain origins. Select an origin for your character, and then one of the backgrounds associated with said origin. Backgrounds under the Shared folder fit under multiple origins and as such, are additional options to the standard ones in a specific origin.
