Galaed Vala
Galaed Vala is the realm of the Elves on the Peninsula. The Vala part of the name is related to the great forest Valaya, within the borders of the realm. Which one came first is unknown, but it is known that Galaed Vala is just one of eight Elven realms. In events both related and unrelated to the Imperial Collapse, contact has been lost with seven of those realms, their fates unknown.
Galaed Vala is ruled by two Aspects, representing the schools of Enchantment and Abjuration. It seems that the Abjuration aspect originally came from another realm, but came to Galaed Vala for unknown reasons and has ruled alongside the Enchantment Aspect since then.
When those without Elven blood enter the forest of Vala, which lies within the borders of Galaed Vala, they must make a magical oath known as The Wild Oath to preserve the forest and the creatures within it.
Religion
While Amhraism has been worshipped by the elves for as long as they can remember, there is a distinction between the High elves - or Banelwi, and wood elves - Crannelwi.
The High Elves are generally less religious than their cousins. They have much closer contact with the Aspects, who encourage a material view of the world and pursuit of arcane arts.
On the other hand the Wood Elves are much closer in contact with their Gods in general, and much further from the reach of the Aspects. They maintain the older traditions and practices of Amhraism.

Galaed Vala has no official currency, with inhabitants relying on bartering goods and services for most internal transactions. They do trade coins with outsiders, but only out of necessity, with those coins often being offloaded as soon as possible or repurposed for other things.
