Moon trail Peaks

Tall and proud, the mountain range stands, looking out at the lands below.
The mountain range acts as a natural border between two countries, though some of the range continues north into the country of Irai where it ends.

The range

Mountains are large structures, but this particular range is larger than any. This is where the highest peaks are found on the continent, and most of the time the top the peaks themselves are obscured by clouds, like the mountains are pillars piercing through clouds and up into the sky above.   Most names the range have been given has some kind of connection to the moon or the cosmos above; this is because of the immense reach they have. When going there, it is a given that all the stars and objects of the night sky are visible, with the clouds lays like a blanket on the world below.

Geology

Different formations and combinations of rocks and minerals are embedded in the mountain range. Coming from the underground, the rocks here are great to use to assess the geological history of the continent.   In the higher layers, the rocks contain many minerals and compressed remains of marine life, suggesting that the mountain once was covered in water and this being the ocean floor. These sediments and organism have been compressed and trapped in the now mountain range. Many smaller layers of limestone can be seen as lines across the mountain, white brilliant lines; these are great to determine warping withing the earth as it rose from the ocean.   These mountains have been rising for many millions of years, and though many would think they were done, they are still moving, shifting and rising every day; not getting a lot taller than what it already is because of erotion.

    Names

  • Moon trail Peaks
  • Moon path
  • Path to the gods
  • Moon reach
  • Stargazers trail
  • Cities and the people

Most cities and settlements have been founded at the foot of the mountains, but some have ventured onto the steep rocks, building their homes closer to the gods and the cosmos. Some have decided to live a life in solitude in the mountains, where they are able to connect with the stars and whatever divine they believe in.   These few mountain cities relies a lot on the settlements that lie at the bottom of the rocks, as the mountains themselves are rather barren, mostly just cold rocks and snow.

    Religions

    Elemental gods

In Irai some believe that the elements are gods, like the ocean goddess Occa, and other lesser elements like sand, earth and rock. It is believed amongst these people, that the house of gods can be reached at the highest peak of the moon trails, Mount Lyiare, where a staircase is revieled in the moonlight, connecting the gods to Aewyn.

    Aagaido

Aagaido is the main religion of Lakai, which is the southern country that borders the peaks. They too believe that the gods reside at the peak of the mountains, but not in a material sense, but more like the belief in Irai that this is the place where out plane and theirs can reach each other.   This makes for an interesting connection between the two very different religions, that doesn't have much in common besides this fact. Some would suggest it as a coincidence, as the mountain range does radiate awe and divineness amongst the landscape.
