Dragan Thorne
Commander Dragan Thorne (a.k.a. Steelheart)
Dragan is a tall, powerfully built man with iron-gray hair that’s combed back, revealing a severe, chiseled face. His dark eyes are intense and unwavering, and his jaw is square and set, exuding authority. He wears practical armor, a mix of leather and metal, showing marks of past skirmishes but kept in impeccable condition.
Dragan became a respected figure in Miner's Pass and the nearby mines of Stonefathom Deep. He organized a business venture with the mission of rejuvenating and protecting the surrounding regions throughout Verisara. Entrusting displaced former miners and other impoverished workers that have become disenfranchised with the Citadel of the Dawn, Dragan provided important and lucrative work. His hired hands would take collections of herbs and plant them in regions across Verisara, facilitating the restoration of soil for farmlands, forests, and natural terrain. This enterprise also brought wealth into Miner's Pass, helping them to rebuild after the calamitous destruction of their town years prior.
Unfortunately, Dragan was killed in a tragic accident when an experimental 'Aetheric Generator' of gnomish design unexpectedly exploded in the depths of Stonefathom Deep, and Dragan Thorne was caught in the blast. His presence will be sorely missed by those he has helped, and he will be long remembered for his beneficence.
Shadow Operation
A small group of Hunters managed to infiltrate Dragan Thorne's operation in Stonefathom Deep, and discovered that Dragan is a Shadow Commander in the Thaldrisar military. Framed as a rejuvenation mission, Shadow Commander Dragan Thorne provided Aethertitan baits to unsuspecting members of Miner's Pass and surrounding regions, who then planted these throughout Verisara. These baits drew powerful Aethertitans to the area, overloading the Hunters of the Citadel and weakening the Verisara military in preparation for an invasion by the Empire of Thaldrisar. Dragan was confronted by the group of Hunters in the lower mines of Stonefathom Deep, where he was killed in battle. However, before succumbing to his death, he detonated charges collapsing the mine, in the hopes of taking the Hunters with him to their deaths.
