The Burning Arm of Lorthal
The Arm of Lorthal is a straight and pointed peninsula, that holds up the Blackrock Range of mountains, a seemingly ancient and old volcanic region and calderra. It has been a region that has faced multiple but long-seasons of volcanic activity and earthquakes, pervading the grounds with dark and blackened soils, reddened-clay and sickened vegetation coloured in black and yellowish-grey grasses. This land is often filled with billowing smoke, broken rocky terrain and rich soils. The darkened wastes and even the volcanic woodland rises in great hills, a strange sandy-rock terrain among the coastline, and the smoke seemingly billows out in many different directions, but has a western and northern drift of wind, blowing towards Canterune.
Dangerous terrain, filled with strange pockets of noxious fumes and poisonous trapped-gases. It has been home to a number of kobold clans, hiding within the underground regions of the territory - brewing in a war between them and the Gnomes that call their home amongst the Knuckledust Isles to the south. The Arm of Lorthal is flanked eitherside, by two coastlines and great straightened bays - the Arvain bay to the East, where its waters remain purified and nurtured by the volcanic salts and soils that ebb into the region, though, choking the region nearby into a great swampy mass that thickens towards the Braverise Mountains. otherwise known as the Anbabra Marsh (literally, the Armpit Marsh).
