Aetha'shar - The Sun Continent

An ancient continent of the world filled with many wonders, mysteries and factions. The realm home to the desert-dwelling Tabaxi Prides of Ankh'hera, the Desert Jewel, the City of Wonders, serving under the legacy of the proud and watchful sphinxes of old. To the far west, lies the great and wild lands of the Bronzimm Concord of Athalassar steeped in the revolution of the goblins of Banaethlin, aided by the mystical powers of the Serpents Sublime and the Loa. To the far east, resides the almighty draconic sultan of the Azure Sultanate of Ozon'Siiar, rejoicing in the revival of their great home and the resplendence of their great ruler of the skies and storms.

GEOGRAPHY

WEATHER & SEASONS

The Western regions of the Aetha'shar continent has a Tropical Calendar, therefore has a Wet/ Monsoon Season, where summer has the most rainfall and winds blow westward perpetually and the Dry Season, which occurs in winter, where the least rainfall occurs and the wind reverses into a perpetual eastern direction. The Dry Season ends upon the coming of the Monsoon, where the hot and humid weather suddenly builds up toward dry season. During the Monsoon Season, typhoons and hurricanes begin over warm tropical oceans and intensify towards the land where they weaken. In the Monsoon Season, the mountains where the west winds blow, the warm humid airs of the Vasharan Desert appear and cool, and give rise to cloud forms and great rainfall. Clouds arise, fog comes overnight, and the great rains come. The leeside of the mountains give off strong downslope winds, heated and strong, giving temperature rises. The coastline receives a alluring and cooling sea-breeze - where most of the civilised folk congregate. It is at this point that the tropical cyclones and hurricanes occur around the sea and within the jungles, venturing forth across the land and the lowlands flood and the swamps are wracked and rise. In the Dry Season, the mountains receive a eastern wind, and the warm moist airs go up the mountain slopes of the plateaus reaching the larger mountains, cool and increase the humidity. Giving off perpetual clouds from different points in the mountains. The leeside of the mountain, to the east, give off strong warm and blistering winds in an arid heat, causing drought around the central hinterlands. The sea breeze is strongest in this region. Here, the waters are seemingly at their calmest, and the people retreat back to the lowland coastline.

THE CONTINENT

Bronzimm Concord - Athalassar

The tropical and warm continent of the south, known as Aetha'shar, filled with the thick and verdant [Aethallari Jungle and rainforest of the west pertaining to the goblinoid Bronzimm Concord. The two western isles of the Cimerus Sea besides the eastern coastline of the Bronzimm Concord, are Arrow Isle and the Lone Isle.

Jaegeden Peninsula - The Soaring Wilds

The north-western region is the temperate peninsula and headland that was the once connected land-bridge between Lorthal and Aetha'Shar, known as the Jagaeden Peninsula, home to barbarian nomads and trading ports, a region left to the wilds and nature. Sometimes referred to as the Soaring Wilds.

Great Vasharan Desert - The Heart of Aetha'sur

The centre hinterlands of Aetha'shar is the Great Vasharan Desert stretching all across the main body of the continent, once home to the ancient Sphinx and Lamia dynasties that ruled over the Tabaxi and Gnollsuntil there came the rise of the The Mystrasi of Ankh'hera, the chosen of Pansophia. A wild barren bad-land filled with a trade network of desert nomads and oasis trade posts, filled with an assortment of dangers and monsters such as the Sandcrawler Worms.

Savasha, the Green Crescent Peninsula - The Hyanan Homeland

The southern-central peninsula stretching towards the main commercial coast is known as the Green-Crescent, a rich and fertile savannah and hill region held by the Gnolls of the Reignarate, still fervent in their worship of their old corrupted deity Hyana. Led by their warrior-huntress queen, the Reignar of the Mangehearts. The source in which feeds freshwater from the Green Crescent and across the heart of Vashara, that spills into the great river delta of the Kingdom of Ankh'hera.

Ozon'Saiir - The Azure Savannah

The eastern-most region of Aetha'Shar is a heat blasted rocky bad-lands with little green, and filled with savannah but also the blasted remnants of a divine intervention that blasted from the sky and left the region blasted with molten glass and crystal breaches - home to the remnants of Ozon'Cerull, the Blue Dragon sultanate, a strange, isolated and burgeoning kingdom owing to the rule of the authority of the Azure Sultanate of Ozon'Siiar.

THE ISLANDS OF THE VENTURA & CIMERUS SEAS

Aetha'sar is surrounded by a series of many verdant, dangerous and great and small islands and archipelagos - home to a great many other races than that of its continent.   The four great islands and eighteen-smaller isles of northern-central Aetha'sar, is known as the Barrier Teeth Archipelago - The Broken Reefs. Acting as the stormy vanguard to the entrance to the heart of Ankh'hera. Some call the eighteen isles the Fangs of Sekoloth, after the great and merciless deity of the Sahuagin. It is believed that the four great isles were formed in a battle between Sekoloth the Blood Raver and Romeus the Heart-Martyr long ago, seeking to remove the apocryphal stone of Demogorgon, and have thus given patronage to each of them.   The larger island of the western-most point of Aetha'Shar, by the Aegecean Ocean, is known as the Vile Isle, a historic site that is seen as taboo to the Bronzimm Concord, as it is a haunted ancient ruined stronghold of Banaethlin, the Hobgoblin Empire of the South-West, but has been colonised once again by wandering traders - and utilised as a neutral zone between the human kingdoms and the Bronzimm Concord.   The two smaller isles to the south-east, southward of the Vile Isle, are the Singing Twins, a reputable ships graveyard where many tales hold of a powerful sea-siren coven resides there.   The small eastern archipelago of the Ventura Sea, set between Aetha'Shar and Tempestus, are rather inhospitable, and tend to be isolated regions left well alone - known as the Harrow Isles.   The large remote island to the far north-east, is Tempestus, and is considered to be the motherland of the Tortle, devoted to Toridon the Tidebreaker, and is at the centre of the eastern Ocean... a much contested region between the Arkspire of Dion-Leora, the barbarians of the Viragonate of Avengiir, and Gwynngilliad, the Twilight Duchy of the Wood Elves.

Ringfire Archipelago

Meanwhile, the most proliferous and bountiful of the archipelagos in the world, located in the southern expanse of the Cimerus Sea: the Ringfire Archipelago. This archipelago dominated by great island states and a ring of volcanic mountains (both inactive and active). Across the Cimerus Sea, there are sixteen islands and isles, originally, there were less, but upon the Resurgence of the Feywild, many new islands broke apart from the return of the High Elvesat the end of the Century of Broken Magic, becoming as one with the Ringfire Archipelago.   The western-most isle, is Isla Bahatoor, the refuge and rally point of the fallen Dragonborn of many different Dragonaughts that work with (or rather under) the Bond Exchange of the Tiefling Seignior families - the greatest bank families of the world, and supply the world with great riches and gold, as well as power, influence and diplomatic relations. They work in unison under an ancient oath: the Dragonborn Orders that survived the Skyclasp, swore to protect the Bond Exchange to ensure that no nefarious means nor corruption falls with their access to gold and diamonds, and if they see fiendish interference, they will burn the island to the ground... meanwhile the Bond Exchange swear to upkeep a reputable and honorable stance, keeping the global economy alive and giving prosperity to growing nations and help return the Dragonborn to their former stance of glory. Isla Bahatoor holds one of the most prosperous of volcanic mountains, giving off natural heat and steaming waters.   The southern-most island nation, upon the warped and serpent like isle, is Bo-Wodin - the largest tropical island transported from the Feywild home to Fey creatures, sailors and traders, mainly Satyr, Tortle, Gnomes, Gnoll - Hyanan, Dragonborn and Halflings. Though it is in danger of the disruptive volcanic eruptions from the Ringfire Archipelago, and dimensional backdraft from centuries before - the region is prominent with Wild Magic, and as the winds blow, so do the energies from the wild magic and cause a strange amount of magical weather and phenomena.   At the centre of the Ringfire Islands was once the remnants of a thalassocratic mage-city that dominated the southern seas, known as Manciore. These wizards of the seas and coast had ruled through the use of their innovative nautical craft, the Maegalleons - which had been enchanted to be sentient ships that were bigger on the inside than the outside, each being the size of small towns to even cities within... and they grew prosperous. Until they were corrupted by the Rift Schism, turning into aberrant creatures, and were hunted towards extermination and their island was partially sunken... but seasonally, it has been known that the island does return back to the surface when the volcanoes begin to rage and become active in the Season of Storms. It is nothing more than a quarantined site by the Dragonborn, having taken and utilised their Maegalleons in the aid of the Bond Exchange.   In the north-east region of the Cimerus Sea, resides a great and wild isle left untamed and to grow wildly, a druidic sanctuary known as the "Isle of the Verdani", and has resided there for generations and generations with the aid of the Fey and the Forest Gnomes that call this place home. The isle has transformed over the period, and through the rampant earthquakes and floods, the isle has over time and quite rapidly grown a volcanic centre, its energies affected by Fey, Wild and Nature magic. Making it quite an unpredictable region.   Then there are the twelve Spice Isles Archipelago in the eastern regions of the Cimerus Sea - home to the mostly delineated Fey, Halflings and Tortle that landed within Aetheus after the return of the Elves that broke the barrier into the Feywild. It's greatest island is Promethea, a volcanic region home to many of the oldest Halfling lines of the world since the Divergence - led by the High Sherriff; which is believed to be the dead body of a fallen Titan that still resides within the known world of Aetheus, and holds stores of a strange phenomenon, of seemingly renewable metal - which has provided them great many gifts, riches, and afforded them the peace they hold for ages. But this place, much like the other Spice Islands, is often attacked by the Sahuagin, the Sharks of the Sea.   As for the other Spice Islands, it is made of eleven other islands, consisting of six historical Isles and five Fey Isles:
  1. Island of Chavé: The western great isle in the Spice Islands, the second largest. It is known to be a stormy forested region that has been made prosperous by its colonisers, the Halflings, having an amicable friendship between the Fey and natural spirits of the region. It's patron, is known as the "Senior".
  2. Island of Wicketton: The third largest island, the northern-most region of the Spice Islands. Filled with densely-forested jungle, blackened soils enriched in fertility by its dormant volcano. Seemingly vegetated by Fey-flora and fauna, though not originally an Fey Isle, affected by its Wild Magics - it has been known to house a corruption, angering its Treant's and consuming its Dryads. The harsh isle seems populated by Halflings, and its patron is known as "the Marshal".
Southern Spice Isles:
  • Fey Isle of Ruieden: Resting as the small southern-most isle, in the Spice Island chain. An isolated Fey Isle inhabited by centaur, tropical treants and dryads. Protecting a lost and powerful Fey spirit, to which they named their island after. Led by its patron, the "High-Strider."
  • The Ephemora Isle: A bewitching and haunting volcanic isle resting off Bo-Wodin's eastern-most coastline, to the most south-west cluster of the Spice Island chain. Known to be filled with twinkling mists dancing over an overgrown jungle, avoided by wayfarers and sailors across the sea. It glows in many different enchanting lights, luring sailors to the illusory jagged rocks that claim their lives. It is also known as the Dirgeglow. It is believed, by some, that the island had been made home to Pixies and Sprites, twisted by a dark evil.
  • Mooncrest Isle: the far southern isle of the Spice Islands. It's patronage is to Shelúne, filled by a ceremonious twilight forest and bountiful Fey creatures.
Northern Spice Isles:
  • Fey Isle of Panirvana: Resting south of the Fey Isle of the Verdani, in the north-west portion of the Spice Islands. It is known as an idyllic and naturally blooming Fey isle, and resting home of the Satyr. Known for growing its special berries and hallucinogens known as Puffensnuff; led by an island patron, the "Nonna".
  • Fey Isle of Nebreta: The small isle resting between Wicketton and Chavé, home to a coven of burgeoning witches, and is treated with fear and respect.
Central Spice Isles:
  • Black Isle of Orgomaw: Resting between Chavé and Promethea, this is the smallest isle of the Ringfire Archipelago, but one of the most inhospitable - known as an active and burning maw, with razor volcanic rock surrounding it, constantly smoking out and steaming and burbling with volcanic rock. An island made out of blackened, tide-smashed rock, and is often lauded as a 'gateway to hell'.
  • Fey Isle of Straysong: the second smallest and central-most isle of the Spice Islands, set between Promethea and Chavé. A Fey Isle. Said to be the home and protected land of an errant Brass Dragon family.
  • Fey Isle of Cradlefont: the Fey Isle set off the southernmost-part of Chavé, branching out between Chavé and Promethea. The region is largely populated by the Grung, treating this region as their birthing isle.
  • Isle of Sucré: Resting as the central-north small island set between the three greater islands of Promethea, Chavé, and Wicketton. A sweet tropic isle filled with sugar-cane and bountiful colourful tropical meadows and woods. But is often at odds with strange infestations of insects and monstrous worms. Said to be blessed, and cursed, by the Spring Maiden Eostara and her alter ego, Persephone. The isle is led by it's patron, the "Padron".
