Elves
Once immortal, elves collaborated with dragons at the time in exchange for magical knowledge. The dragons were interested in the fae’s various creation magics, while the fae coveted the dragon’s gift of prophecy. The first elves then struck the bargain and became a vassal nation under the might dragon empire of the time. The elves branched out and settled many biomes to the delight of their dragon masters.
Some found that the deal struck with the dragons was not struck in their favor and wanted to be brought back to the embrace of the fae realms. This relationship was further strained when the dragon-giant war erupted and the elves found themselves drafted into a conflict not of their choosing. In the end they withdrew from fighting once it was apparent that the two sides were destroying one another with no end in sight. Some elves remained loyal to the end and these dragon knights now serve the sleeping queen and her order. The rest of the elves split and formed new nations of elven houses.
All elves maintain a connection to one another with the discovery of the Celesital Sea. A dream state where the collective knowledge of millions flows through the Astral Sea. Elf society ranges from those of the queen’s court, being very formal and structured, to very rustic forest living for others. As one of the longer-lived species, elves are often sought for their knowledge of history as one of their lifetimes is five of another’s. This can sometimes frustrate the elves as younger lineages make the same mistakes their ancestors did. Elves are suitable for all sorts of tasks from academic to martial prowess on the battlefield. After the shattering of Necessa the elves found old ways and new to reconnect their kingdom back to the rest of the world by way of their teleportation portals or beautiful aether filers. The elves now seek to reclaim that which was lost to them.
Elf Culture
Elven culture doesn’t change as fast as others due to their long lives. This carries forward into conservational attitude in general. Some would rather leave things be to their own fates while others take a guardian role and want to shape and mold the world around their will. Elven crafts tend to be elaborate and purposeful in their embellishments. Even something as simple as a chainmail shirt can be so finely woven and forged that less material is needed to make it shirt much lighter but offer the same protection. Elven scholars are often sought out as none can compare to the centuries of knowledge and experience, they can accumulate. Elves are also masters of magic and one of the few species that harnessed the power of teleportation before the world was sundered. Now they are seeking out new maps of the current layout of ley lines to reconnect their teleportation network.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Otherworldly and graceful, elves have tapered ears, features that range from delicate to gaunt, and a wide range of skin and hair colors based on their sublineage.
Forest Elf
Forest elves have the widest variety of appearances. Their skin tones match the whole human range and include some inhumane shades like the light greens and pastel pinks that one might see in a meadow. Their hair colors also naturally contain all human shades, along with the darker green hues of fresh pine needles or the deep blue of a midnight sky.
Mountain Elf
Mountain elves are usually a little shorter than their other cousins in stature. They have skin tones ranging from light-skinned to tan, but mountain elves usually are not as dark-skinned as plains elves. Their hair colors are primarily wide varieties of red, brunette, and black or gray, although the occasional blonde can be found among their numbers.
Plains Elf
Plains elves typically range in skin tones from tan to dark brown, and some have a metallic bronze undertone not seen in humans, halflings, or dwarves. Their hair coloration comes in varying shades of black, gray, and brunette, with the occasional, uncommon blonde or redhead. Plains elves are generally the tallest out of the elven sublineages.
Star Elf
Star elves look the most alien when compared to other humanoids. Their skin tones range from obsidian black to pale blue or lilac. Their hair is usually white or silver, but some have tints of blonde or have onyx-black hair. Star elves have a wide variety of eye coloration as well, and their irises usually glow very faintly.
