Session 24: Distractions
General Summary
Previous Session: Session 23: Best Laid Plans
Glen enters Ariel's with the charmed guard and runs upstairs, sending the guard to sit at the bar.
Once Glen reaches the bedroom where Muda has fallen asleep in his chair, he casts Disguise Self and changes into the High Priest before returning to the lobby.
Willow and Skha'k lean on opposite walls by the door while Hettle stands in the hallway and the Paladins sit in the eatery next to a window looking at Zesto's Finest.
The six Zesto's Finest employees that chased after Glen then enter Ariel's, Hettle opening the door for them.
Hettle distracts them at the door before they pass him and find their coworker at the bar.
A guard employee questions him, and he reveals that Glen was the one who brought him there.
Glen, as the High Priest, comes downstairs saying that he is there to see the Paladins, which the employees believe.
The guard sends four of the other employees upstairs to look for Glen.
The Paladins distract the guards with stories of their Order and the Demonic Invasion of the 6th Century while the employees take their time searching upstairs.
While this is happening, Willow and Skha'k sneak out toward Zesto's while Hettle follows casually after.
At Zesto's Finest, Willow casts Pass Without Trace while he and Skha'k head around to the side entrance.
They each peek inside, seeing a large warehouse with crates and four uniformed bandits.
Willow inspects one of the crates and finds it filled with bear-inscribed daggers.
He throws five of them at an opposite corner, distracting the bandits.
He and Skha'k sneak past the bandits and into the front lobby, where they continue past a guard and up the stairs to the second floor.
Skha'k stealthily kills a guard down the immediate hallway and they make their way forward.
Meanwhile, as the Paladins wrap up their discussion, the guards say they should be going since they've been looking for a while with no sign of the culprit.
At that moment, Hettle walks into Ariel's and distracts them just a little longer, managing to anger the lead guard, before apologizing and stepping out of their way.
Willow and Skha'k enter an administration room with several desks, a single guard, and a well-dressed man sitting at one of the desks writing in a book.
They quietly kill the guard and Willow threatens the man to tell him everything he knows, which he agrees to do.
