House Wheatscar
House Wheatscar have risen in the ranks in recent years. Previously a minor house with minor titles, Wheatscar primarily patrolled the Greysoot fields and managed farmland, with little land or titles between them all. However, they were well liked and personable. They had a long history in the fields, and were known to be mostly passive - caring little for who ruled Vanreth lest they interfere with Wheatscar personally. The only allegience they've had is to whoever runs Ashfall, so mostly house Ashwell. This has been more out of neccessity, as Ashfall is a huge exporter of wheat and so Wheatscar needs it to survive.
When the Fullrider Coup and Scouring of the Names took place, Wheatscar wanted little to do with the war. But House Highrun was adament on earning glory. When Highrun left Ashfall to siege Orelin, Wheatscar was forced to pick up the slack. And upon the end of the Scouring, Wheatscar was given hold of Ashfall while Highrun moved into Orelin.
Wheatscars new holding (though still technically Ashwells territory) has propelled them into the realm of politics beyond what they originally had intended.
