Crystal Vanguard

A ship never made it to Searock. Within it was a group from the Hastlands and Vanreth, 3 individuals in particular: Ulubel, Grognak, and Jax. These three would be beset by a band of pirates, causing them to wake up injured and out of breath on a beach. There, they encountered a local ranger - Ryuel, who helped escort the survivors back to Searock.
When they arrived, the group decided to help a local church of the Blades out in order to get some spending gold. Their travel to the town had them form an uneasy working alliance since all were relatively broke thanks to the wreck. This job for the church took them into the crypt to fight giant spiders and find a tabaxi named Garden of Flowers (Flower for short) and a disguised changeling named Sine. They would join in as mercenaries, looking to scrape by enough coin for their own personal goals. This would start with them assisting the local mage, Magbrek. One of these sent them into old mines where they slew kobolds and uncovered the egg of a dragon - who would hatch into the crystal dragon Mezzudan. 
The pirates would attack again, with Vanguard fending them off and gaining thanks from the Lord of the Bay - sending them out to the Hilt to request extra funds since the attack hard harmed Searock. On the way they felled a cyclops, and when they arrived they helped solve a set of murders performed by a necromancers pet. 
Gifted a small piece of property in the Hilt for their help, they registered themselves at the Crystal Vanguard and set out east into Vanreth to help Grognak get his wife back from Legacy, a group of mercenaries. Along the way though, tragedy struck. A spider drake within a set of catacombs they were exploring proved too much, and as the party retreated Sine and Flower were trapped and killed. Leaving Grognak, Ulubel, Jax, and Ryuel alone on their journey. 
The trek had them entering Norville, where Ryuel helped his estranged son find himself while the party helped remove a large local gang called the Black Sparrows, gaining the assistance of House Pinepelt who dedicated a group of troops to Vanguards assault of the Cold Fort in the Anvil range where Legacy had run. Sael, Ryuels son, joined Vanguard here. 
The assault on the Cold Fort was difficult, but the line was broken and Vanguard made it in. Unfortunately, tragedy struck once more. Legacy's leader, Ambrose Maycot and Grognak killed one another, with Grognak throwing him off the keep to save Grognaks wife Joy. 
After mourning their dead friend, Sael, Ryuel, Ulubel and Jax headed south - where Jax revealed he was Jax Darkhood, heir to Kingsfall - which was lost to House Farrowless who used a local cell of the assassins of Curled Finger to kill Jax's family. With Jax having helped the others to this point, they agreed to push on with him. Joy joined the party for a time, and with secret support from House Redpine and Legacy (who Joy rallied over to her side) Vanguard would launch small guerrilla warfare against Farrowless, softening them for a full attack. Jax would kill Jasper Farrowless, Vanguard would cripple the local Curled Finger cell, and House Darkhood would take control again of Kingsfall - with help from Legacy and Redpine. 
With all said and done, Ulubel, Sael and Ryuel returned to the Hilt. They would renovate their property into a guild hall, becoming the first large adventuring guild in Requiem: Vanguard.
