Nexus

The Nexus was a building constructed in Aervos Prime during the Era of Gods. It was constructed in order to transport beings from Aervos Prime into each of the seven Paradigm Realms. The ruin is located on the continent of Anah'shii, at the base of the Solat'Kiem Mountains. It was once the home of a race of monks.

Purpose / Function

The Nexus was a sacred location to the people for Aervos during the Era of Gods. It was primarily used as the meeting place of the Court of Gods. The Divine Spirits would hold court here, meeting here from around the world, ruling the civilisations of Aervos. Another part of the Nexus was the Paradigm Gates. The only way to access the seven Paradigm Realms was through these gates, and they were controlled by the Court of Gods, limiting access only to those who served them.

History

No one is entirely sure who built the Nexus, but the only beings capable of creating such a place are the Architects. The purpose for the Nexus being built is unknown as well. It was first inhabited by the Amullan, a people who discovered the building, on the continent that would become Anah'shii, then dedicating their race to preserving the building as monks, designating it their holy place. When the Divine Spirits discovered the building, they designated the place where Court would be held. The Amullan monks continued to serve the Nexus, and recognised the Divine Spirits as their Gods. The Nexus continued to operate until the Mortal Uprising. After the mortal armies gained control over the Nexus, they scattered the gates across Aervos Prime, hidden away. The Amullan Monks had disappeared during the Rebellion, their locations unknown, and without occupants or purpose, the Nexus was left to ruin.
