The Cithereth
The Cithereth are Elves that steadfastly guard The Aspenshield Forest from those that would do it harm. Their name literally means 'warden (cith) of the earth (ereth)' in Avariel. They are not unfriendly with the Elves of Aspenshield and accept the rule of the Crystal Queen, but they do not congregate in the cities of the Elves. Their connection to Aspenshield and the Crystal Queen diminishes every day. They maintain a few common gathering sites, but they are mostly mobile throughout the forest. They are led by an old Elven ranger named Eravan Sylvanwrath, who has spent a lot of his time befriending the beasts of the Aspenshield to the exclusion of anything else. His devout followers keep his philosophy alive and strong but there are many who have strayed from The Cithereth path and have either started their own smaller tribes, or have made their way back to the city of Aspenshield. The Cithereth are shrinking in number but not in purpose.
Structure
The Apotae Ya'ar is the titular head, and the post has solely been retained by Eravan Sylvanwrath. He leads a group of half a dozen captains who are responsible for smaller cells that roam Aspenshield Forest. Those captains, in turn, are responsible for maintaining discipline, providing support, resources, and training.
It is a loose organization, however. The captains are given the autonomy to lead how they wish, as long as they adhere to the rules provided by the Apotae.
Culture
Eravan is very strict and set in his ways. The Cithereth became popular at the beginning of his rule, but the numbers have begun to dwindle as many do not see any need for the stringent restrictions and even slight paranoia of their leader. The captains of the Cithereth vary in their intensity and leadership style, which has kept most of the members still around. The ones that remain deeply care for the cause and appreciate being able to guard and protect the forests of their home.

The public and private agenda of the Cithereth are open and plain - guard the forest, befriend the beasts.
Assets
Eravan has maintained friendships and alliances with smaller settlements, some Gnomes of Aspenshield, and various beasts thoughout. The Cithereth are mostly self-sufficient but also get resources from these groups.
History
The Cithereth was created in 326 PF when Eravan Sylvanwrath departed Aspenshield after having a disagreement with
Eravan discovered the Platinum Bridge, a gateway to the Beastlands and one that gets frequented often. He took it upon himself to set up a guardian post there to ensure no damage could be inflicted on the Bridge or the environs around it.
Eravan is getting very old and soon will be passing on his post to the next Apotae.
