Gilded Net, Tavern
Located on the southern edge of the City Docks, The Gilded Net is a well-worn but well-patronised tavern known for serving ship officers, merchants’ runners, and the occasional courier awaiting a tide change. Its name comes from the aged fishing net strung across the ceiling beams, threaded with brass rings and a few silver coins—supposedly thrown up there by sailors hoping for luck.
The atmosphere is lively but civil. The clientele drink strong spirits, play cards, and discuss trade routes. There’s a small stage for local musicians and sea shanties most nights, and enough noise to cover quiet footsteps or a subtle lift of a coin pouch.
Suzi would feel at ease here—respectable enough not to offend her instincts, but loose enough in morals and coin for a skilled hand to go unnoticed.
