Royal Khepri Expeditionary Force
Holding on to the glorious past of the Nemeria, the Khepri Dynasty is a kingdom mired in occultism and archaeology. The entirety of society is centered around the royal family and the cult of Khepri. While there is no slavery in the Khepri Dynasty, laborers live harsh, painful lives, working themselves to death unearthing ancient tombs and constructing monuments to their king. While the King himself has not set sail for the Marshdeep Gorge, he has gifted his third son, Hem-Tannon, a sizable fleet and ordered him to protect the kingdom from the encroaching monsters.
Structure
The Khepri Dynasty is ruled through an intermingling of the royal family and the Hierophants of the Khepri Occultism. Members of the royal family not likely to hold an important secular position are inevitably moved into the cult, where they help maintain control of the population.

Military
The Kheprin army is largely focused on ranged weaponry, especially that which utilizes fire. For a long time, this meant fire arrows, but with the growth of alchemy, increasingly it means fire-based weaponry. A particular favorite of their flat-bottomed ships are small catapults, hurling casks of alchemist's fire at enemy ships.
While the Khepri Dynasty has been highly successful at warfare in the past, no new wars of conquest have been initiated for several generations and the generals are getting restless. With the Thalassian Sea being sought by so many inferior powers, why shouldn't they strike first?

Technological Level
The Kheprin Hierophants are strongly opposed to the growth of alchemy but have not been able to keep it entirely out of the hands of the population and it is slowly increasing, with alchemists moving into all major towns.
Religion
In Khepri Proper, The gods of The Pantheon are only rarely observed and worship happens in secrecy. Public displays of faith aren't outright illegal, but social exclusion and shunning are inevitable.
Much easier is it for those who follow the tenets of The Unity Church. While not endorsed by the Royal family, they are largely left alone, living in secluded communities.
In the Arcadia Archipelago, far away from the taboos and social structures of homer, worship of Ryujin and Baal have prospered, with temples and shrines found in most colonies.
