Lady Elenna Caerthall represents a stark departure from her family's martial tradition. Of medium height and slender build, with light brown hair often worn loose or in simple braids adorned with feathers or beads collected during her travels, Elenna physically resembles her mother but possesses a scholarly temperament unique within the recent generations of House Caerthall. Her blue-gray eyes, the hallmark of Caerthall blood, frequently display a dreamy, distant look as her mind wanders through historical possibilities and ancient mysteries.
Unlike her brother who chafes under the weight of their family's diminished status, Elenna discovered unexpected freedom in the aftermath of The Gilded Rebellion. With the family's resources stretched thin and attention focused on rebuilding, she enjoyed less scrutiny and fewer expectations than might normally befall a daughter of a Great House. Elenna's education at Oathwatch Academy will be followed up by an unconventional education that will be cobbled together from various sources: instruction from House Caerthall's aging historian Master Thaddeus Voll, a studying with the Archivists of Aurendell if possible with her family name, and numerous informal apprenticeships with village loremasters and independent scholars across the kingdom. Her unorthodox approach to historical research—combining academic study with folklore collection and hands-on archaeological exploration—may yield insights overlooked by traditional scholars. Recently, she has developed a controversial theory suggesting that the Nytherian ward system may have been designed not only to keep hostile magic out of Eldoria but also to contain something within the kingdom's borders. This theory, if proven, could have significant implications for understanding both Eldoria's founding and the true purpose of the ward towers her family has traditionally maintained.
