The Song of Casia

From the harsh waves did they land on the black sanded shores, a bad omen to any man. They rang the bells and built with hast, a town to tame the land. For 4 fortnights they worked to tame the land they planted seeds for not to grow, they built homes for them to only burn. This was a cursed land, one of savagery and brutality. Neighbor killed neighbor for the smallest slice of bread. The beasts at the door howled nightly for food. By half a year one-third of the settlers lay dead. It was the beasts that ate at the flesh of them, dragging them into the hills. Some nights you could hear the distant cry of a life being destroyed. The darkened folk stole all those the ventured too far from the town. By a year there was not more than one-fourth left in the town. Men of pale skin and strange eyes came from beyond the trees, they where of us. They came and saw our poverty and asked what clan were they. They said of none. They nodded and left with hast, but not before leaving the finest head of cattle I had seen. They few strongest of us traveled across the see back for aid. They returned with fresh faces and fresh reserves. As we landed on the blackened beach we were met with the sight of an empty town. No sign of life remained, only blood in the streets. Nobodies save a few limbs scattered about. This was a cursed land, they left the scene as it was when they arrived, moved east and left Casia to rot.

An ancient folk tail of Galik Talwen.
